Our alumni and friends recognize that education never ends. They are committed to lifelong learning. Often, our Notre Dame clubs are the source for continuing education programming.
Continuing Education Committee
Here are ways that clubs offer alumni and friends the chance to keep learning and bettering themselves:
Hesburgh Lecture Series Program
Sponsor or partner with a local institution to deliver a Hesburgh Lecture Series program. All available lecturers and topics can be found here.
Hesburgh Film Screening
Host a gathering to watch Hesburgh, a feature-length documentary film about America’s most well-known Catholic priest and long-time president of the University of Notre Dame. This film from award-winning filmmakers Patrick Creadon ‘89, Christine O’Malley, and Jerry Barca ‘99 will be released in select theatersnationwide in early May 2019.
Professional Development Workshops and/or Networking Events
Organize an event that focuses on professional development (e.g., negotiations) and/or making connections
Excellence in Teaching Conference
Financially sponsor an educator from your community for the Institute for Educational Initiative’s Excellence in Teaching Conference. Consider inviting your teacher to speak at a Club event after they attend. Find out more about ACE and the next EITC, April 3-5, 2020, on their website (updated info coming soon).
Create your own or use the ND Women Connect Book Club Toolkit.
Faculty Presentations and Local Lectures
Invite local faculty to present in their area of expertise and/or invite club members to attend a presentation/seminar/workshop at a local higher education institution in your community
Dialogues with Prominent ND alumni and/or other Community Leaders
Host a discussion with alumni or others on a topic of interest to the club members (i.e. Dinner and Dialogue)
Explore club resources or network to identify a local expert to provide instruction (e.g., Saving for College, Understanding your Parents’ Future Healthcare Wishes)
Notre Dame Alumni Association YouTube Channel Online Programs
Host a discussion utilizing an NDAA online learning series (Behind the Headlines, Reunion Seminars, Clear-Sighted Career)
